Capitão Gancho Jazz Club

Few places on the Brazilian coast have succeeded in preserving their charm and their environment. A small piece of heaven is located on the south coast of Bahia, in northeast Brazil: the Maraú Peninsula, with kilometres of gorgeous beaches. The Camamu bay, with many islands and the small village of Barra Grande is one of them.

Far from the most famous tourist centres this peaceful village and its splendid beaches fascinate everyone who goes there. Because of the difficult access, as getting there by car is almost impossible, this place has preserved the typical atmosphere of an old fishermen village. Simple charming houses are surrounded by gardens with many flowers, coconut palms and mango trees. The way of life of Barra Grande is contagious. It is not rare to find people who fell in love with the place and decided to stay.

On the beach, Capitão Gancho Jazz Club (Captain Hook) is the first jazz club from Maraú peninsula. This restaurant bar offers a unique landscape to watch the sunset with a selection of music among traditional jazz, acid jazz and fusion.

The restaurant occupies the top floor with a jazzy decoration, offers delicious flavours of Portuguese cuisine, selected varieties of great and refine Portuguese wines.

Capitão Gancho Jazz Club requested our service for development of branding and website. The values, culture and personality are the meaning of the permanent mark we’ve developed. We think it was a valuable asset to the extent that pioneered and marked the Marau Peninsula by innovation and creativity, becoming a reference in southern Bahia.
